Greetings families! As we embark on an exciting journey into the new academic year, we're delighted to shine the spotlight on the vibrant happenings in our classrooms. Let's delve into the highlights of our first two weeks!
In Silver 2 we have spent time getting to know each other, building relationships, friendships and learning routines.
We have begun exploring our whole school question, “What is my story?” by asking questions like; where am I from, who is in my family, what big events have happened in my life and more. This has brought about some interesting conversations and encouraged all students to share a bit about themselves.
Testing has been in full swing for Spelling, Reading, Writing and Maths and students have shown amazing resilience getting back to work.
This week, we introduced group work and rotations and students have taken to this well enjoying our activities as you can see from our photos. We have also had a few birthdays and some delicious cupcakes.
We are excited for what the year has to bring!
A NEW YEAR OF LEARNING AND BUILDING RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIPS
In 3/4 Golding, students have been building relationships with each other through lots of getting to know you games and class collaboration games.
During the first two weeks of school students have been recapping and familarising themselves with the school values of Respect, Resilience, Responsibility, Integrity and Curiosity.
We also have a new school mascot, the villain – BRUCE: Bad, Rude, Unreliable, Crazy and Embarrassing version of RRRIC. The class have been discussing the behaviour’s that BRUCE displays.
This goes hand in hand with students learning about emotions through the Zone’s of Regulation and developing strategies to get back to the green zone. This is an imperative part of building a positive, calm and inclusive environment for all students.
We are delighted to share the result of the Learning Style Test undertaken by 5/6 Banaga Class.
Here are some things that we will do to enjoy learning.

Welcome to the Preschool year! The students have settled into the learning environments very well. It is such a calm and wonderful atmosphere in the Preschool. The first week we have been focusing on learning the routines of Preschool, learning our teachers and friends names and taking care of our belongings. The students have loved exploring both the indoor and outdoor learning environments and have even begun sharing what they like to do at home. We’ve had many visits from siblings through the fence at playtime checking in on their younger siblings.
Thank you to all those parents who have sent back the information sheets in the packs sent home at enrolment. Please try to have them returned by the beginning of Week 3. This is vital information in how we plan for your child's Preschool learning opportunities. If you need any of the packs provided, please see one of the Preschool staff.
We are really looking forward to a fabulous year in Preschool with your children. We have so many wonderful things planned so please keep checking Dojos and the school Newsletters for more updates. For now, thank you for an amazing start to the Preschool year!!

We understand and sympathise with those families who have missed out on a placement for after school care however under the QCENT Regulations we are not permitted to increase our numbers.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Miss Rutendo who has been with our service as a Lead Educator for over a year, she leaves OSHC this week to continue her studies. Her big smile, enthusiasm for teaching and caring nature will be missed by everyone.
