As the school year progresses, we have many exciting events and achievements to share with you. Our community has been bustling with activity, and we’re thrilled to highlight some of the recent happenings at our school.
Zuccoli Changemakers
Our Zuccoli Changemakers have been in full swing this term raising much needed funds for two very important causes. Raising awareness around bullying by encouraging all students and staff to wear the colour blue in support of Day for Dolly, they raised $516.30. The following week we were encouraged to Wear your PJs to School for a day to raise money for Cure for Brain Cancer Foundation and Zuccoli Primary School students and staff did not disappoint, raising $459.50. Check out some photos of our amazing staff and students participating in PJ Day.
NTLC
Our NTLC students attended our most recent Staff meeting to discuss some concerns they have noticed within our school and offered helpful solutions. Each of them spoke with confidence and represented our school with pride.
Cross Country Carnival
Our annual Cross Country Carnival, held in conjunction with Mother Theresa Primary School, was a huge success. Students from both schools demonstrated remarkable sportsmanship and endurance as they navigated the course. It was a fantastic day filled with enthusiasm, camaraderie, and healthy competition. Well done to the participants and a big thank you to Mr Lonergan for the planning and volunteers who made this event possible.
ALIA National Simultaneous Storytime event
We were delighted to participate in the ALIA National Simultaneous Storytime event this year. Our students and teachers joined 2.3 million students from Australia and New Zealand to read "Bowered Blues” by Aura Parker. This event celebrates the joy of reading and promotes literacy in a fun and engaging way. A special thanks to our teachers for their enthusiastic participation and for fostering a love of reading in our students.
Report Writing
As we approach the end of the term, our dedicated teachers are hard at work writing reports. This is a crucial time for assessing student progress and providing valuable feedback to help guide future learning. We appreciate the effort and commitment of our teachers during this busy period, and we look forward to sharing students’ achievements with parents and guardians soon.
Congratulations to Koey Li and Jasmin Mick
We are proud to announce that two of our staff members have recently graduated. This is a significant milestone and a testament to their hard work and dedication. Congratulations to our graduates! We are fortunate to have such talented and accomplished individuals as part of our school community.
Upcoming Sports Day
Preparations for our upcoming Sports Day are in full swing. Students are gearing up for various sports activities, and Mr Lonergan is busy planning and training. Sports Says play a vital role in promoting physical health, teamwork, and school spirit. We are looking forward to seeing our students excel and enjoy the upcoming sports events.
ONESIE YEAR 6 FUNDRAISER
A friendly reminder, we have one week remaining to fill the jars in the front office of a teacher who you would like to see wear a Minion Onesie for a full day and dance to the macarena at our next school assembly. All funds raised will go towards our Year 6 Graduation.
We hope you enjoy reading about these highlights and look forward to your continued support and involvement in our school activities.

Transition Eade have been busy learning all about 2D shapes. Students have enjoyed singing songs about the different shapes and learning all their features, such as how many corners or side a shape has. They have also made shapes out of playdough, sorted shapes into groups and gone on a 2D shape hunt adventure in the playground. So much fun!
Learning in Transition Mitchell has been an amazing journey! Our days are always super busy. We have been learning all about the Zones of Regulation and what strategies we can use to help us.
For our Literacy and Maths sessions we have group rotations – we love wearing our coloured bands because it helps everyone know which activity they need to be at.
In Maths, we have been learning about numbers, patterns and shapes. We made some really cool Shape Monsters.
Our reading keeps getting better with some of our classmates already completing 100 nights of reading! We practice our writing every day and are starting to write our own sentences. We are always trying to get lots of stamps on our charts because when the class reaches 20 stars we get cool rewards!
We love learning in our class.
“Can I make a kite?” asked one curious preschooler?
This simple question helped direct student learning this term and created multiple opportunities for students to learn about, investigate and explore Science concepts. Over the past few weeks, students have been introduced to Space, magnets, wind and direction, light and shadows, bugs and insects, dinosaurs and fossils. Depending on individual student interests, they:
- Engaged in our small world play in our space area
- Read information texts about Space and a famous fossil hunter who has a certain tongue twister rhyme written about her.
- Watched information clips about magnetism, light and shadows,
- Drew outlines of their shadows on the cement at different times of the day to learn how the sun moves around the Earth and investigate how shadows are created
- Sang space themed counting songs
- Created paper kites, planes and parachutes to test
- Made collage rockets
- Took turns to fly a kite
- Discussed wind direction and speed using a windsock
- Brainstormed things that fly
- Dug for dinosaur skeletons like palaeontologists.
There have been so many wonderful experiences and highly engaged students asking questions and demonstrating fine motor and physical motor skills, using their imagination and creativity, and continuing to develop their social and communication skills.
We can’t wait to see were our interests lead us next.

We value parent/carer feedback at OSHC and are asking our families to take part in a quick questionnaire regarding our vacation care program. The information collected will help identify how we can improve our program, and what our children love most. Vacation Care Feedback. Our vacation care rooms will be opening on owna on the Friday the 10th June for families to enrol their child/ren in.
Our wonderful Educators are seeking donations of recycled materials so they can put together a “loose parts” box for the children to let their imagination and creativity run wild. If you have egg cartons, cardboard cylinders from cling wrap (please no toilet roll cylinders), plastic bottle tops, cardboard boxes of any shape and size please kindly donate these items to OSHC.
Thank you for your support.
