Assembly Hosted by: Gabrielle Briggs and Hunter Aitcheson
With 3 weeks left to rehearse our Beat students are both excited and nervous for the performance night on September 5th. Last Wednesday we joined the combined choirs, band and dancers to rehearse at Marrara Stadium. We didn’t realise how tired we would be after 4 hours of singing. If you would like a taste of what we can do, then come to assembly next week when we will be show casing our song Scattered Islands.
This week Jax and Davo from the Breakfast show on Hot100 visit our school! A group of our loudest Year 1/2, Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 students were selected to compete in the Hot100 loudest school competition. Students had to yell as loud as they could ‘Merry Christmas’ three times.
The winning school will win the use of a Christmas themed mini floats, plus $1,000 to help your school get involved in the A Very Darwin Christmas Pageant 2024.
This term, our class have been learning about ways to show gratitude towards others. They have expressed their appreciation for those who work to make our school a better place—especially our principal, Mrs Andrade, and assistant principal, Mrs Gardner.
For Australian Primary Principals Day 2024 students were encouraged to think about the many ways our school leadership supports them daily. Whether it's through providing a safe and welcoming environment, advocating for student needs, or simply being a friendly face, our principal and assistant principal play a crucial role in making Zuccoli Primary School a place where students feel valued and supported.
To acknowledge this day, each student created a personalized "Thank You" note. These cards were collected and presented to Mrs Andrade and Mrs Gardner to remind them how truly grateful we are for all that they do!
Term 3 means bountiful harvest in our school garden and students have been thrilled with the pickings. Students planted the seeds in Semester 1 and have waited many weeks caring for and observing the plants grow and fruit. The cucumber, daikon radish, turmeric, aibika (tree spinach), watermelon, tomato and pumpkin harvest have kept us busy. Students delight in tasting the harvest fresh from the garden or using produce to prepare wonderful dishes in the kitchen. What an amazing experience for children to grow, harvest, prepare and share food together through the Zuccoli Primary School Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program. Please enjoy the photos demonstrating the connection between the kitchen and garden spaces.

On Wednesday 7th of August Students from Zuccoli Primary School attended the regional athletics day at Freds Pass Athletic Track. Students were selected based on the results of our school athletics carnival held in Term 2. It was a very enjoyable day seeing students from the Palmerston area compete in athletic events such as 100m, 200m, 800m, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put and Discuss. The school values were on display throughout the day and lots of ribbons returned with our students. Good Luck to those competing at the state Athletics Carnival.
