In Science, students investigated Earth and our solar system. They conducted experiments to find out how the Earth, Moon and Sun move in space and created orreries (moveable 3D models) to show their findings. Students made a scaled model of our solar system, to show the distance of planets from the Sun. This allowed them to investigate why planets take different amounts of time to orbit the Sun. Did you know that Neptune is about 4.5 billion kilometres from the sun? No wonder it takes 165 Earth years to complete one full orbit.
