Meet the Peeps - Anna Huynh - Year 1/2 Teacher
What is your favourite part of the school day?
My favourite part of the school day is welcoming students in the morning because it sets a positive tone for the day. I enjoy greeting students, seeing their excitement and helping them settle into the classroom environment. It’s a great time to build relationships, reinforce routines and create a welcoming atmosphere for learning.
What is the most important lesson you want your students to learn?
The most important lesson I want my students to learn is kindness and respect—both for themselves and others. Academic skills are important, but I believe that fostering empathy, resilience and a love for learning will help them succeed in all aspects of life.
Do you have any hobbies outside of school?
Yes, outside of school, I enjoy working out and cooking. Exercising helps me stay active and energized, while cooking allows me to be creative while also ensuring my family enjoys quality time over good food. Both hobbies help me unwind and maintain a balanced lifestyle.
Do you have a favourite quote?
Yes, my favourite quote is a Law of Attraction quote: "What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create." I believe that maintaining a positive mindset and focusing on good intentions can shape our experiences and lead to personal growth.
When you feel frustrated, how do you calm your mind and stay focused?
When I feel frustrated, I take a deep breath and pause to reset my mind. I find that stepping away for a moment, whether by practicing deep breathing, stretching or even just a positive self-talk helps me regain focus.
